Clinical Pharmacology Unit

Clinical Pharmacology Unit Capabilities:

  • 25,000 sq. foot state-of-the-art facility
  • Capacity up to 50 patient beds
  • Separate wing for psychiatric studies
  • State-licensed and JCAHO Accredited Psychiatric Health Facility with 20 secure beds for acute psychiatric clinical research and private hospitalization
  • 8AM-8PM Urgent Care on site
  • Access to acute care hospital within blocks of the facility
  • Ability to conduct early phase cognition testing
  • Rapid enrollment of disease-specific populations and healthy volunteers
  • Highly experienced staff and Principal Investigators

Equipment:

  • 4 Driving simulator’s and trained staff
  • Stocked emergency cart and automatic defibrillators on-site
  • -80°F freezer with 24-hour battery backup
  • Secure medication dispensary
  • Temperature controlled dispensary
  • Refrigerated and ambient centrifuges
  • Fume hood available

Facility Features:

  • Each room has a 32” LCD television
  • Computer and internet access
  • Recreational activities organized by a recreation therapist
  • Conference room which can accommodate up to 20 people
  • Dedicated monitoring facilities
  • On-site video conference center
  • On-site outpatient clinic for screening and follow-up
